Mary Smith Veal

January 23, 1962 – July 23, 2025

Westminster-Mary Smith Veal, age 63, wife of the late David Veal, passed away on July 23, 2025.Born on January 23, 1962, in Seneca, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Eugene McAlister and Bertha Smith Roach McAlister.

She worked for many years at Schneider Electric, where she served as a janitorial supervisor and was known for her dedication, leadership, and hard work. Mary was a bartender at the Last Chance. Mary will be remembered for her strength, her love for her family, and her unwavering kindness. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Mary is survived by her children: Jason Eller (Donna Crawford) of Walhalla, James Eller (Heather) of Westminster, and Stephanie Fultz (Kevin) of Georgia; her sister, Polly McJunken of Anderson; eleven grandchildren: Hayleigh, Dakota, Ben, Destiny, Tyler, Cash, Colt, Payton, Briar, Kraelynn, and Korbin; and two great-grandchildren, Harper and JJ.

She was preceded in death by her siblings: Charles Smith, Perry Smith, Gene Smith, Lenora "Cricket" Owens, Annie McAlister, and Shirley Eller.

Per Mary's wishes, no formal service will be held, but the family will receive friends and family on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Sandifer Funeral Home. The family is at their respective homes.
