Mary O. Wilson, age 85 of Washington, Michigan passed away on Wednesday morning, August 6, 2025.

She was born May 11, 1940, in Mount Clemens, to the late Alfred and Bernadette Tebo Jeffery.

At age 15, she would meet her future husband James, at a small local store, Norwood's Sundry. Their story blossomed into a lifelong romance. When James joined the United State Navy and was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia, Mary joined him nearby in South Mills, North Carolina, for their 'destination wedding' and married on February 20, 1960. Together they would share 65 years of marriage.

Mary dedicated 25 years of service to the Macomb County Probate Court retiring in 2003. For many years, Mary was a cherished wedding coordinator at St. Peter Catholic Church, guiding countless couples through the preparations for their special day.

A woman of many passions, Mary enjoyed bowling at Pampa Lanes, indulging in her love of shopping and exploring the world. Her travels took her Italy in 1987 as well as favorite destinations across the United States including Florida, and Las Vegas. For their 40th wedding anniversary, their children surprised their parents with a memorable trip to Hawaii.

Mary was known as a 'favorite neighborhood mom' always ready with a plate of Oreo cookies for delighted children. She was a devoted caregiver, especially to her own mom, passing on nurturing spirit to her daughter Chris, who lovingly credits her mother for teaching her everything she knows.

The best was yet to come with the arrival of the grandchildren. This devoted grandmother created "Mimi Land" a magical haven, where imagination thrived and memories were made, and loving every moment with their dear Mimi.

Mary O. Wilson leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, kindness, and devotion. Her warmth touched everyone who knew her, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, James, her children, Mary Christine (Bob) Relph, James (Christine) Wilson, grandchildren, Carter James (Taylor) Wilson, Carly Christine (Justin Goethals) Wilson, and great granddaughter Riley. Also surviving are sisters-in- law Karen Grzeckim, Martha Jo (Timothy) Regerus, Winifred (Glenn) Haskins, brother-in-law Russell G. Wilson, nieces and nephews and other extended family. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brother Gary Jeffery and sister and brother-in-law Kay and Kenny Stockford.

Visitation will take place on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 2:00 pm until 8:00pm with a service of remembrance at 6:30 pm in the Harold W. Vick Funeral Home, 140 South Main, Mount Clemens, Michigan.
