Mary Louise (Freeman) Wood, 85, of Clubb, MO, went to be with her Lord, Monday, July 21, 2025, in her home surrounded by family. She was born October 20, 1939, in St. Louis, Missouri to Jasper and Grace Louise (Guion) Freeman.

Mary was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was a member of Patterson Assembly of God Church, since October 3, 1971. She loved working in the church teaching Sunday school, working with the Royal Rangers and the Women's Ministry. She made many pumpkin rolls and beautiful quilt tops for the Women's Ministry to sell for their fund raisers. She was a long-time resident of Wayne County, working many years in the home and several years outside the home, ending with sixteen years at Cap America after her children were raised.

Mary married Jerry Clifford Wood on June 8, 1957, and they were blessed with seven sons, who blessed her with ten grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Her greatest legacy is her family. She liked nothing better than having the whole family around for all of the holidays. Mary loved feeding everyone and enjoying the family time. One can only imagine the number of meals that she has prepared in her lifetime, and the number of prayers that she has sent up for her family and friends. She was a Godly woman, mother and friend.

She ruled her house with a firm hand and the help of a broom stick and hot wheels tracks. She taught her sons to be Godly men and respect their wives and to be good men. She shared her wisdom and faith with her grandchildren who she had wonderful relationships with.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of forty-four years; son: Dennis Lee Wood; grandson: Darrell Pinnel; great-grandson: Gage Hunden; brothers and sisters-in-laws: Donald and Sue Freeman, Oliver and Harvettia Freeman, brother-in-law: Ron McKee.

Mary is survived by her sons: Dale L. Wood of Clubb, Dean L Wood and wife Cathy of Clubb, David L Wood and wife Sandy of Cuba, Doug L. Wood and wife Rachael of Patterson, Daniel L Wood of Poplar Bluff, Derwin L Wood and wife Cindy of Greenville; grandchildren: Regina Hicks and husband Jim of Clubb, Heather Elder and husband Rhett of Clubb, Jordan Wood of Clubb, Jeremiah Wood and companion Rachal Thompson of Clubb, April Pinnell of Cuba, Melissa Greer and husband Jerry of Clubb, Matthew Wood and wife Crystal of Glen Allen, Melanie Dougherty and husband Tyler of Patterson, Chassey Burns and husband Dustin of Dexter, Caleb Wood, Adam Davis and companion Alexis Whitworth of Puxico; great-grandchildren: Alex Hicks and wife Riley, Sara Hicks and companion Matthew Hovis, Rylee Hunden, Wyatt Elder, Kimber Elder, Marion Wood, Davey Pinnell and companion Carissa Melton-Gregory, Blake Pinnell, Ross Greer and wife Allison, Reed Greer and companion Peyton Daniels, Ruthie Greer and companion Trevor Bratton, Trevor Wood and companion Braylynn, Aubrey Wood, Carson Wood, Paislee Wood, Blakely Wood, Madilynn Dougherty, Tucker Dougherty, Hayden Cook, Kaylie Cook, Jaxon Cook; great-great-grandchilren: Oliver Hicks, Hadleigh Greer; daughter-in-law: Shelia Sanders; sisters: Winnie Street and husband Bob of Patterson, Ruth McKee of Piedmont; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
