Medardo Cortez Obituary
Medardo was a very devoted husband, a hard worker, always providing and caring for his loving wife and their six children in his earlier years. In his free time, he loved to fish, hunt, watch the good old westerns and will be remembered for seeing him with his favorite paperback western books in hand.
Medardo is survived by Five of his children. Maria Guarjardo and husband Hector of IL. Medardo Cortez Jr and wife Sherry of Texas, Gerado Cortez and wife Margorie of Colorado, Hernaldo Cortez and wife Elizabeth of Texas, and Elizabeth Mennella and husband Joseph of Texas. His three brothers, Jose Cortez Sr. and wife Mary, Roberto Cortez and wife Teresa and Roel Cortez Sr and wife Judy. Sixteen Grandchildren and many Great Grand Children, he was even blessed to have several Great Great Grandchildren. He lived a long and fruitful life and will be missed dearly.
Medardo was preceded in death by his parents Moises Sr. and Adela Cortez, Wife Julia Cortez, daughter Anna Julia, two of his brothers, Ponciano Cortez and Moises Cortez Jr. and his three sisters, Jovial Reyes, Estella Pena and Adela Becerra. As well as three grandsons Ponciano Cortez, Armando Cortez and Adriano Cortez.
Funeral Service will be held at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home- Rockwall Location
Monday, May 19, 2025 at 1:00pm. A gathering of family and friends will be held prior to service from 12:00pm - 1:00pm
Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
