It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Melanie Lynn Ingram of Milan, Indiana. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. Melanie went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Thursday, June 19, 2025, while attending the Ingram family reunion in Whitesburg, Kentucky. Her sudden loss has left us with deep sadness and loss; however, that cannot be outshined by the light that she brought to us. Her love, strength, kindness and compassion were unwavering, and we will hold her in our hearts forever.Melanie "Lynn" was born to Lavonia (Souder) and John Howard Prather on December 19, 1957, in Seymour, Indiana. She met and married the love of her life, Johnnie Ray Ingram, on June 21, 1975. Together they built a life wholly devoted to their families and two sons.Jesus was the foundation of her life. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Milan. Lynn joyfully gave her time and energy weekly to prepare the and presentations for the church, as well as organizing and preparing meals for many of the church activities. She lived her life to serve anyone in need. Lynn was dedicated to her husband, their two sons and their families. She poured her love out for them and would always be there no matter the situation or circumstance. She was known for her strength, her heart to serve others above her own needs, and her unwavering love. Her heart for her family was always her priority. She would give all that she had to help them in any situation. In addition to Lynn's dedication to her family, she was a dedicated nurse for over 30 years at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Edgewood Hospital in Edgewood, Kentucky. Lynn joins her mother, Lavonia Souder, and father, John Howard Prather, in Heaven. She is survived by her husband, Johnnie Ray Ingram of Milan, Indiana; sisters, Pamela Muriedas of Camarillo, California and Jonna Taylor of Milan, Indiana; sons John "J.R." (Anne) of Clarkston, Michigan and Jacob "Ryan" (Stephanie) of Zionsville, Indiana; and five grandchildren Jackson and Joseph of Zionsville, Indiana and Jonah, Madeleine and Isabelle of Clarkston, Michigan. My deepest condolences. I worked with Melanie in the early years of her career at St. Elizabeth, as a floor Nurse. She was wonderful, caring nurse. Sending prayers for her precious family, whom she often spoke about, and loved deeply.

My heartfelt sadness is extended to Mel´s spouse, children, grandchildren and extended family and friends. Mel was a manager at St. Elizabeth Healthcare where I had the blessing of working with her for several years. She was the sweetest person. I am certain that she touched so many lives with her kindness as a nurse, manager, and for all that knew her in various capacities. Blessings to her family at this time.

Melanie was my manager at St. Elizabeth when I worked in Utilization Mgmt. She was one of the most supportive caring people I have met. She helped me through a very difficult loss and I will forever be grateful for her compassion and guidance. My prayers go out to her husband, family, and many people whose lives are enriched by having known her. May God give you peace and comfort in the days ahead.
