Meredith Gylene Ables-Bryant, 86, born to Faye and Terrell Ables, passed away on Sunday, August 3rd, 2025. On September 25, 1959 she married Charles Bryant who she spent a loving 55 years with before his death in 2014. Meredith and Charles welcomed three children, Angie Bryant, Doug Bryant and wife Aletha, Melissa Bryant-Nance and husband Jeff.
After her 1st granddaughter was born, she became affectionately known as “granny” to all that met her. Her gentle voice and caring spirit exuded love to everyone she knew. She embodied the essence of grand-motherly love far beyond her immediate family.
She attended Antioch Baptist Church for over 25 years. Her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ stood as a beacon of hope and strength throughout her life. Her faith in Christ was the foundation of her every action. Whether through her gentle words or her selfless deeds, she exemplified what is meant to live out her faith daily.
Her legacy is etched in the lives she touched, a testament to a woman who lived with faith in Jesus Christ and an unstoppable love for her family- values that will continue to inspire and uplift her loved ones every day.
She was blessed with 7 grandkids, Tracy, Terry, John Matthew and wife Jessica, Marissa House and husband Kaileb, Jayden Thomas, Gavan Brooks and Will Nance. She was also blessed with 9 great- grandkids, Hannah and Henley, Brooke, Sawyer and Lynlea, Jace and Reid, and Knox and Kyla. She also had the unique experience of having one great-great grandchild, Hollis.
She is proceeded in death by her parents Faye and Terrell Ables, husband Charles Bryant, and brothers Dana Ables, HT Ables, and Kenneth Ables.
A visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6PM until 8PM at Antioch Baptist Church near Hampton. Funeral services will be 2PM Friday at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Nutt officiating.
