Michael Keith Conley, 69, passed away on July 19, 2025 in Grand Rapids. He was born on April 13, 1956 at Gerber Hospital in Fremont to Keith C. and Joyce M. (Allen) Conley.

Mike's early years were spent on the family farm near Volney until they moved to Hesperia when he was seven, along with his sisters, brothers, and grandma.

He schooled in the Hesperia Community School System. "Bird," as he was known by all, did well academically and excelled in sports, especially baseball and football.

He worked most of his adult life at Gerber Products, retiring in 2010. His interests were many and varied: stock car racing, golfing with his brothers, flying, and building remote-control airplanes, hunting, and shooting (especially sporting clays for which he loaded his own ammo. Michael was also very proud of his Irish heritage.

He wed Barbara (Brown) Hren in 2000 and loved her deeply until his unexpected passing in Grand Rapids, with many family members visiting during his final days.

He is survived by his wife, Barb; children; Michael (Sondra) Conley, Danielle (Michael) Swenor, Scott (Holly) Hren, and Chris (Robin) Hren; siblings: Hugh (Nancy) Conley, Bruce (Ellie) Brimmer, Kevin (Cora) Conley, Darwin (Sheryl) Conley; brothers -in-law Denny (Ruthanne) Brown and Larry Brown; 14 grandchildren; and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins who were deeply loved by their Uncle "Bird."

Arrangements are in the care of Crandell Funeral Home. A private family service will be held to honor Michael's life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association at P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
