Michael "Mike" Cook, 66, of Bloomington, Indiana, passed away on June 24, 2025.
Michael was known for his warm heart, friendly nature, and ability to strike up a conversation with just about anyone. He had a deep appreciation for the people in his life and was a strong supporter of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous, offering encouragement and understanding to those on the path to recovery. He also found great joy in a welding class he attended and loved learning new skills while connecting with others.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Alban and Gertrude Elizabeth (Traphagen) Cook; his brothers, Bob and John Cook; and his beloved companion, Rita Eggeman.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Janet Cook; sister-in-law, Maritza Cook; nephew, Robert Cook; nieces, Julie Bonsall and Kimberly Wilcox; and nephew, James Cook.
Michael's warmth, kindness, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A visitation for Michael will be held on Tuesday, July 1st at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville from 11:00 am-1:00 pm. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm with Rev. Danny Hillenburg officiating.
