Michael Davis Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jul. 17, 2025.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Vernon Davis. He died peacefully on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.
Michael was born on September 19, 1969.
He is survived by his mother Ruby Jean Orndorff of Augusta, WV; his twin-sister: Michele Lynn Shanholtz, his brother-in-law: Bryan Edward Shanholtz of Capon Bridge, WV; and a very special lady: Carol Himes.
Michael is preceded in death by a sister: Sharon Virginia Combs; a brother: Alan Mitchell Davis; his paternal father: Edgar Vernon Davis; and his stepdad and great buddy: DeLyle Orndorff.
Michael was a great person, son. Brother and friend. He would take the shirt off his back for anyone. He was a hard worker until a motorcycle accident in 2000 that left him in a wheelchair. He overcame a lot. He was a true fighter. He never had a bad day. No matter what he always had a smile. If only we could all have the attitude of Michael. He loved going to the gym, with his loyal devoted caregiver Melissa Russell, and he would ride the bike like nobody's business for hours. His determination was that he wanted to walk again one day.
Although he is already greatly missed, we find comfort in knowing Michael is now walking!!
