Michael John Enge, beloved father, brother and husband passed away on October 1, 2025 at his home in Chino Valley, AZ.
Michael was born on June 27th 1954 to Robert John Enge and Anna Franz Enge in Los Angeles, CA. Michael grew up in Torrance, CA and spent his youth playing football, baseball, riding motorcycles and camping with his family and friends.
Some of his fondest memories were stories he told of racing his motorcycle around with his brother and friends.
After graduating from North High in Torrance, CA he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a corpsman during the Vietnam War. He served on the USS Enterprise and participated in the evacuation which occurred on the rooftop of the U.S. Embassy when Saigon fell.
After returning from Vietnam, he worked in hospital pharmacy and developed an innovative system and training programs for pharmacy technicians in Thousand Oaks, CA.
His devotion of service to others was evident in his leisure time. He loved children and coached youth football in Oxnard, CA for more than ten years. As well as devoting dozens of hours preparing the community horseback riding arenas for local
children and their horses in advance of monthly competitions.
In 2006 Mike retired from the Simi Valley Park District as a regional supervisor. He and his wife moved to Chino Valley, AZ where he was once again afforded the ability to ride his beloved motorcycles! He relished the peace and beauty of his home, viewing
the vast Arizona vistas and nightly sunsets.
Michael is survived by the love of his life, his wife Michelle Enge, his son, Michael Robert Enge who was the pride and joy of his life and his brother, James Enge.
Michael was a stellar human being who relished life and made education a lifelong hobby, especially history. He was considered a scholar of the Civil War and as such, in lieu of a service or flowers, his family requests that donations be made in his name to the American Battlefield trust at: www.battlefields.org/give/memorial-special-occasion-gifts
