Michael Frank Obituary

Michael Earl Frank was born January 14, 1960, in Detroit, Michigan. He was one of three children born from the union of Robert Owen and Lorraine Frank. For roughly eighteen years, he was gainfully employed with Ford Motor Company and as a Tool and Die maker.
Throughout his life, Michael faced challenges, particularly with addiction. However, he embraced sobriety with great determination, marking his life with twenty-two years of resistance.
As a private individual, Michael's circle was small but filled with love. His warmth and kindness were evident to friends and family. His charming personality and sense of humor always managed to bring comfort and joy to those around him.
His love for music was a cornerstone of his life. The rich riffs of Led Zeppelin and the evocative sounds of classic rock inspired him to pick up a guitar and teach himself to play.
Fishing, however, was his main hobby. He spent countless hours near tranquil lakes and flowing rivers, with only the gentle lapping of water and the occasional tug on his fishing line breaking the serene silence. His love for the outdoors also led him to join the hunting association, where he further nurtured his passion for deer hunting.
Central to Michael's heart were his two beloved Pit bulls: Junior and Sassy. They were not just his pets but his proclaimed soulmates who comforted him. Sadly, they passed away when Michael fell ill about 2.5 years ago.
Michael "Mike" Earl Frank, age 65, of Romulus passed away while under the care of Corewell Health, Farmington Hills, on Monday June 9, 2025, at 2:26am. In addition to his passing, he will meet in heaven, his father; a sister; both of his grandparents; and his two Pitbull dogs.
To cherish his memory, he leaves his mother: Lorraine; his sister: Karen, three nieces; and two nephews.
His care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, Romulus (formerly Crane Funeral Home); 36885 Goddard Road, Romulus, Michigan 48174 (734) 941-9200. Cremation has taken place through Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan, a division of Merkle Enterprises, Inc. A graveside service is being planned to be held at a later date.
