Michael Manuel Obituary

BASILE-It is with heavy hearts that the family of Michael “Mike” Manuel announces his passing on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Maison D’Acadiens in Basile surrounded by his family at the age of 67. At the family’s request, no services will be held at this time.

Michael, lovingly referred to as "Mike," was born on August 19, 1958, in Lake Charles, LA, to the late Edward Manuel and Henrietta Granger Chapman. Throughout his life, Mike dedicated himself to a career as a truck driver, embracing the open road. He was a man of simplicity, often found watching Westerns and sharing laughter through his jokes, bringing joy to those around him. Mike's warm presence and quick wit left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Mike will be missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his siblings, Carla Deville of Opelousas and Derrick Chapman of Ville Platte; as well as extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Morris Manuel; nephew, Maurice Manuel; and brother-in-law, Chris Deville.
