Michael Mayeux, age 46, of Lafayette, passed away at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Sunday, June 22, 2025 at 7:55P.M. Michael was born on September 30, 1979, in Lafayette, LA and a life resident of Lafayette. He graduated from Acadiana High School and was a proud Eagle Scout recipient of two additional palms.
Michael enjoyed spending his days at LARC’S Acadian Village with his friends or at Vermillionville with his family. Michael was very well liked and loved by everyone who knew him. He was a gentle soul with a very kind and loving heart, not to mention a smile that would light up a room. He would never ask for anything but give you everything. He lived for his family especially his nephew Jared Olivier (Chipmunk) and niece/godchild Alexis Olivier (Monkey). He watched them grow up and made sure that they were always taken care of.
Those left to cherish his memory are his father, Milburn J. Mayeux; his sister, Brandie Olivier and her husband Sean Olivier; nephew, Jared Olivier, and his niece/godchild, Alexis Faith Olivier.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Janice (Kojis) Mayeux; paternal grandparents Zedor and Azama (Brouilette) Mayeux; and his maternal grandparents, J.W. “Bill” Kojis and Gladys (John) Kojis.
Funeral Mass for Michael will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Hessmer.
Burial will follow after Funeral Mass on Monday, July 7, 2025, at St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Hessmer.
Visitation will begin an hour before the funeral mass at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church Chapel.
