Michael John Meier

May 30, 1969 - June 27, 2025

Michael John Meier, 56, passed away at home on June 27, 2025, in Oregon, Wis. Born on May 30, 1969, Mike was known for his kind and caring nature, often surrounded by family and friends, including his wife, Rachel Snow, and their cherished Irish Setter, Giannis.

Mike grew up attending Darlington Kindergarten, Holy Rosary School, and later, New Glarus schools, where he developed a lifelong passion for sports. He graduated from New Glarus High School and earned an Associate's Degree from Madison College. Professionally, Mike dedicated many years to maintenance and HVAC, culminating in roles at the UW Wisconsin campus and as the Building and Grounds Supervisor at Oakhill Correctional Institution.

Throughout his life, Mike was an avid outdoorsman and sports enthusiast. From his early days of trapping with his twin brother, Matt, to his enduring love for fishing in Wisconsin's lakes and rivers, Mike cherished the outdoors. He was also a fervent supporter of Wisconsin sports teams, including the Packers, Brewers, Bucks, and the UW Badgers.

Mike is survived by his wife, Rachel; mother, Jeanne (Ellefson) Meier; brother, Matthew Meier; sister, Johanna Meier; daughter, Joslyn Meier; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Jacob Meier.

A celebration of life will be held at the end of July to honor Mike's memory. Mike's life was marked by his devotion to his family, his career, and his passions, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
