Mildred worked at the Celanese plant making parachutes during WWII where she met her husband George Durr of 65 years. Together they had four sons and two daughters. Mildred found joy in gardening, reading, and making her home a warm welcoming place for family and friends. She was a gifted homemaker and loved decorating her home throughout each season of the year. She also loved to cook, particularly for her family. Every holiday she would open her home to her entire family and enjoyed spending time with everyone together. Mildred was active in the ladies' fellowship program at the Frostburg Church of the Brethren for many years. Mildred later attended the Faith Independent Baptist Church in Frostburg. Mildred had a strong faith which she instilled to all family members. She will be missed by so many friends and family. We find comfort in the truth of knowing that she is safe in her Saviors arms and is now free from pain in Heaven.
The family would like to thank all her caregivers and all the staff from the Allegany County Rehabilitation. They were all very loving and caring towards Mildred especially during her final days. Thank you for caring for her so well.
