Misako EGNER Obituary

September 24, 1939 - July 14, 2025

Spokane - Misako Egner, age 85, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, Washington, with her daughter by her side.

Misako was born on September 24, 1939, in Tokyo, Japan. She was the oldest of three siblings who preceded her in death.

Misako met, then married Richard in Tokyo, April 1961. They were stationed in many cities and settled in Spokane in 1976.

For over 20 years, she worked at Rosauers on 29th, where she made good friends and engaged with the community. Her passion was as a member and Cultural Advisor to the Spokane-Nishinomiya Sister City Society, sending students and teachers to Japan and welcoming visitors from Japan. She also loved cooking, baking, sewing, and gardening.

Misako is survived by her husband, Richard of 64 years; their daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Raymond.

A celebration of life is being arranged for mid-September with more details to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Spokane-Nishinomiya Sister City Society.

Dick, I was just made aware of Misako´s passing and I wanted to let you know how deeply sorry I am. Words are hard to describe what a wonderful person you married and shared your life with.
You are in My Heart and Mind right now.
I have thought of you often Dick and all that we shared when we worked together.
