Mitchell L. Worland, age 33, of Washington, passed away unexpectedly due to a boating accident on June 21, 2025. Mitchell is the son of Mark Worland and Pam (Strange) Worland and was born on March 10, 1992.
Mitchell worked for Sun Rise Coal, an underground coal mine. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his dog. He was also a member of the Eagles. Mitchell found happiness in life's simple joys - spending time with friends and family, enjoying the outdoors, especially being out on the water, and showering love on his dogs. He enjoyed spending time with his girlfriend, Haley Hogue, and her nephew, Ryder. His warm presence and infectious laughter could brighten any room and uplift those around him. Though gone too soon, Mitchell's spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him and joy in remembering the light he brought into their lives.
Mitchell's passing is mourned by both of his parents, two brothers; Mark Anthony (Ansley) Worland of Kentucky and Matthew Gene Worland also of Kentucky, a sister; Emily Worland (fiancé, Jansen Shake) of Washington, girlfriend, Haley Hogue, and his lovable dog, Sheba. He will be missed by his niece Baleigh Worland of Washington, niece Braylin Jenkins of Kentucky, nephews, Hudson Worland and Harrison Worland also of Kentucky.
Proceeding him in death was his dog, Sky, paternal grandparents; Agnes and Ralph Worland, maternal grandparents; Thelma and Gene Strange, an aunt, Jeri Worland, and uncles; Dick Heffernan, JD Strange, Phil Strange, and Jerry Heffernan.
Services for Mitchell Worland will be on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Ed Lee Mortuary. Visitation will be from 11 - 2 and funeral will begin at 2 pm. Burial will be in St. John Cemetary with Yvonne Evans officiating.
