Mollie Creekmore Winslow, 95, of Moyock, N.C., passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving daughters.
Born on July 25, 1929, Mollie was the youngest daughter of Hilary and Alpine Creekmore. In 1948, she married Howard Winslow Jr., and they enjoyed 47 years of marriage, during which they raised two daughters.
Mollie was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter. She grew up in Moyock and shared special bonds with many friends and neighbors. She was a great friend, a listener to all, and extremely welcoming, loving, and kind.
Mollie had a great love for God, church, and fellowship. She was very active in her younger years in church ministries, and her life was one of service to others. Mollie was a woman of quiet strength, deep faith, grace, and dignity, offering love and support to all who knew her. She knew no stranger. Her life was one of dedication to her family, and her home was the heart of family life – a place filled with love, good food, traditions, and memories. One of her greatest joys was being a grandmother and watching her granddaughter grow up next door. Mollie loved cooking, sewing, crocheting, crafting, big band music, and dancing.
Left to cherish her loving memories are her daughters, Gail and Cathy; her granddaughter, Ashley (John); and nieces, nephews, and special friends. Mollie was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her brothers, William, Andrew, and Allie, her sister Alice, and her son-in-law, Charlie.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Albemarle Hospice for the love, care, and support shown to their family.
Funeral services will take place on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Moyock Baptist Church, with Pastor Vic Ramsey officiating. Burial will take place at Moyock Memorial Cemetery, 230 Caratoke Hwy., Moyock, NC. The family will meet briefly with friends immediately following the service. Mollie's service will be live streamed at https://youtube.com/live/vfFWy2BZDjI?feature=share.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Moyock Baptist Church, 123 Oak St., Moyock, NC 27958, or to the Alzheimer's Association.
