Mona Wing Obituary

Mona A. Wing, 61, of Arundel, passed away suddenly on June 19, 2025, surrounded by her family and those who loved her deeply.
Born with a heart full of compassion, Mona dedicated much of her life to caring for others. From her time in the medical field, to her long career in childcare, to becoming a foster parent and adopting children of her own. Over her life she became a second mother to countless children. Being a mother was one of her greatest talents and she was a motherly figure to many. She welcomed everyone with open arms and had a gift for making others feel safe, seen, and loved. Whether offering guidance, comfort, or simply a warm home cooked meal, Mona's generosity left a lasting impact on all who crossed her path.
Mona was predeceased by her two sons, Keith Norberg, and Christopher Norberg; her adoptive mother, Claire Orrok, her birth mother, Virginia Townsend and her birth father, Melvin Townsend; her sister, Sherry Townsend, and her brother, Melvin Burns.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Wing; her sons, Ryan Norberg, Benjamin Wing, Sebastian Wing, Scott Morgan, and Seth Morgan; her daughters, Joanne Wing, Ruby Wing, Penelope Wing, and Ashley Cataldi; her sisters, Virginia Gregg, and Mattie Cote; her many beloved grandchildren, whom she cherished with all her heart; and countless others she called "her children".
Mona's life was a testament to kindness, compassion, resilience, unconditional love, strength, and selflessness. She was a mother not only to her own children, but to all who needed one. Her home was a place of safety and warmth, filled with laughter, understanding, and unwavering support. She leaves behind not just a grieving family, but a community that is better because she was in it. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family, the children she cared for, and the many lives she touched.
A public memorial service will be held by the family to celebrate Mona's life at the Saco Grange #53 located at 168 North St, Saco, ME 04072, on July 26th 2025 at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages acts of kindness in her memory just as Mona would have done.
