Monte Melton Sheppard, a man deeply cherished by his family and friends, passed on June 6, 2024, in Sweeny, TX. He was born on October 31, 1944, in Hobbs, NM, to his loving parents Jim Findley and Wanda Ross Findley.
Monte was known for his love of cooking and entertaining, a passion that brought joy to those around him. His enthusiasm for life extended to his hobbies which included fishing, hunting, playing golf, and listening to Country Music.
A proud veteran, Monte served honorably in the United States Army. His dedication to his country was a reflection of his strong character and sense of duty.
Monte will be greatly missed by his surviving family members: his daughters Amanda Sheppard of Sweeny, TX, Lacey Sheppard-Barnes and her husband James of Richwood, TX; as well as his niece Shawna Kellum and nephews Damon Smith, Tracy Barnard, and John Barnard. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Brenda Sue Ashcraft and dear friends Pat & Marsha Tumlinson.
Monte was preceded in death by his beloved wife Karen Ann (Tullos) Sheppard. Together again now in eternal peace.
Services to honor and celebrate Monte's life will be held at C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home 634 S Columbia Dr, West Columbia, TX 77486. A Memorial Gathering will take place on June 11, 2024, starting at 10:00 AM followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM.
Monte Melton Sheppard touched the lives of many with his love for making people laugh. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
