Mr. Mance Davis, Jr., 78, of Littleton, North Carolina, transitioned peacefully on July 22, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 2, 1947 to Dora Sykes Davis and Mance Davis, Sr.

Buster lived a life filled with compassion, resilience, and an unwavering dedication to his family and community. Buster was known for his kind heart, love for his family, his work ethic and his infamous humor. Buster attended Pittman Elementary school in Enfield, North Carolina. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to many. He loved his children, grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren.

Buster is survived by his wife of 58 years: Helen L. Davis; four children: Donald R. Davis (Takisha), Thomas L. Davis, Kevin E. Davis and Helen M. Davis; eight grandchildren: Jordasia Davis, Neleha Davis, Michela Davis, Terrence Johnson, Micheal Austin, Davawna Davis, Ashley Sullivan, and Aaron Jamal Austin; six great-grandchildren: Adriana, Malasia, Ashton, Braydon, Hannah and Marques; three sisters: Geneva Hawkins, Dora Mae Davis, and Verline Hewlin; one brother: Albert Davis; two aunts: Emma Jean Sykes and Edith Arrington; two uncles William Sykes and Jerome Sykes. He was loved by his half-sisters and brothers and their spouses, as well as a host of sisters and brothers-in-law.

Buster was proceeded in death by three sisters: Dorothy Goodwin, Alice Harper, and Lula Mae Davis; and one brother: Horace Davis.

Mance Davis, Jr. "Buster", AKA "Pop" AKA "Papa", we will miss you immensely. You were our "go to" when life got rough; you were our sanity in this crazy world. You were always someone we could count on. You always got your point across without judgement. You always gave it 110%; you never stopped fighting for what was right. Because of you, we have the strength of a lion, the love of our family and an insane work ethic. All we can say is Thank you 1,000 times over.

Join us for a visitation in honor of Mr. Mance Davis on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home, located at 520 Smith Church Road, Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. The funeral service will promptly follow at 1:00 PM.
