Myron Alton Nelson, age 85 of Town of Perry near Daleyville, Wisconsin died on Friday, April 18, 2025 at his home on the farm. Myron was born to Morris and Adeline Jane (Paulson) Nelson on August 27, 1939 on the family farm where he lived his whole life. He grew up on the farm with his two siblings and his parents. He attended the Daleyville State Grade School in Daleyville and graduated from the Mount Horeb High School in 1957. Myron farmed with his father and then was in the United States Army from 1963 to 1965 serving stateside in the Army Corps of Engineers. He returned home and continued farming following his time in service. He milked cows until 2001 when he started working for the Mount Horeb School District as a janitor for 15 years. Myron also operated a beef operation with his nephew Royce Nelson from 2001 until 2020. Myron loved his farm and being a farmer, farming with his nephew Royce, working the land and raising animals. He also was the caregiver for and great help to his parents in their later years. Myron enjoyed watching racing and traveled to a few car races. Myron enjoyed welding and making things. He also enjoyed spending time with his best friend Steve and going on adventures.
Myron is survived by a sister, Mary Powell of Mount Horeb; two nieces, Melanie (Joell) Beirmeier of Minneapolis, MN, Kim Dimaggio of Verona; two nephews, Mark (Jessica) Powell of rural Mount Horeb, and Royce (Mary) Nelson of rural Mount Horeb; Great nieces and nephews; Nathaniel, Jocelyn, Jaeden and Isaiah Biermeier, Peyton DiMaggio, Michael Powell, and Emma and Roger James Nelson; and a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Nelson of rural Mount Horeb. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Roger Dean Nelson, a special cousins Marvel Nelson and Jeff Jenson and a brother-in-law David Powell.
The family would like to thank Agrace Hospice care for all their assistance.
A visitation for Myron will be held Thursday, April 24, 2025 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm at Blanchard Hall at 204 South Main Street in Blanchardville, and again from 10:00 to 11:00 am before the prayer service which will be held Friday, April 25, 2025 at 11:00 am at Blanchard Hall. Burial will be in the Perry Lutheran Cemetery in Daleyville. A catered funeral lunch will be held after burial at Blanchard Hall. Saether Funeral Service of Blanchardville is assisting the family.
