Myrtle Joyce Tucker, of Clover, VA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on June 16, 1938, Joyce was a beacon of love and warmth to all who knew her. Her life was a tapestry of rich experiences, family devotion, and community involvement.

Joyce's talents were numerous, as she dedicated many years of her life to her work as a seamstress. Her passion for crafting, sewing, and jewelry was evident in every piece she created. She cherished the simple joys of life, such as hosting tea parties, exploring yard sales and flea markets, and playing with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her spirit was adventurous, and she found peace and happiness in the mountains of Tennessee. Above all, Myrtle treasured the moments spent surrounded by her family.

Joyce was preceded in death by her cherished husband, William Lee Tucker Sr.; her parents, Wright Mark and Irene Hardy Wright; her son, William Lee Tucker Jr.; her daughter, Michelle Tucker Langley; brothers, Arthur and Douglas Wright; and sisters, Marjorie Perkins and Gloria Gibson.

She is survived by a loving family who will continue to honor her legacy. Her son, Chris Tucker, along with his wife and Joyce’s devoted caregiver, Marie, reside in Clover, VA. Joyce’s daughter, April Tucker Wooten, lives in Four Oaks, NC. Her love continues through her grandchildren: William Lee Tucker III (Kassey), Christopher "Blue" Tucker, Jenna Tucker Veach (Peter), Lori Beth Tucker, Dakota Shane Tucker (Gerina), Cassidy Caulder, Kayla Tucker Vaughan, who spent time caregiving for her grandmother, and fiancé Darrell, Anthony Dale Thornton (Jessica), Dustin Brock Thornton, and Noland Ryan McDonald. Joyce was also blessed with 18 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy.

She is also survived by her sister, Linda Grace Register, and her brothers, Ronnie Wright (Betty Rose) and Randy Wright (Marilyn). Her daughter-in-law, Diana Tucker, her son-in-law, David Langley, and special niece, Judy Locklear, held special places in her heart.

To honor Joyce’s remarkable life, a Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 3:00 PM at the Clover Baptist Church. Following the service, there will be a time of fellowship in the church’s fellowship hall, where family and friends can gather to share memories and offer support to one another.

Arrangements for Myrtle have been entrusted to Brooks-Lyon Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to local charities in memory of Myrtle’s generous spirit.

Myrtle Joyce Tucker will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
