Mr. Najaf Khoshnood passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 2nd in Chicago, Illinois at the age of 88. During his final days, he was enveloped by the presence and prayers of loved ones from around the world. Mr. Khoshnood is survived by his wife of 65 years, Humayun Khoshnood, children Nayson (Gloria), Nasrin (Iqbal), Ruhiyyih Nastaran (Isfandiar), and Aziz (Sitarih), grandchildren Rehan (Harvir), Zain (Isha), Zachary (Vidhi), Raaz, Arman, Aarya (Dawning), Ariana, Sean, and Abbie, and great-grandchildren Rafayel, Zaviel, Rumi, Elan, Zyan, Sahara, Gabbie, and Cyrus. He is loved by so many, he touched many hearts, and he will be deeply missed. Reflections from his family: Mr. Khoshnood lived like a gentleman of another time-soft-spoken, deeply courteous, smiling always, never raising his voice, never turning away anyone in need. His calm was his greatest strength, and he used that strength in the purest service of others. His legacy is not defined by headlines, but by the quiet greatness he left in every life he touched. To witness his passing is to witness the close of a noble chapter. It is deeply painful-but it is also humbling. He walked among us with humility and light, and in his absence, that light now lives in our memories. This is not the end. Remembrance is difficult-but memory endures. And he will never leave our hearts. This is not just a day of mourning-it is a day of recommitment. The best way to keep his legacy alive is simple: Be kind. Do good. Live humbly. Give quietly. Love fully. Let us follow his example, and in doing so, we will never die. His life was a quiet flame that lit many paths. Now, it's our turn to carry that flame forward.
