Nancy L. (Whitehair) Boklund passed away at her residence in Saddlebrooke, Arizona surrounded by family on Friday, June 27. She had courageously battled ALS for one year. Nancy was born in Muncie, Indiana to Joe and Louise Whitehair, the second of four children.
She graduated from Purdue University, where she met her husband, Doug Boklund. They were happily married for 49 years and remained avid Purdue fans. Nancy and Doug began their married life in Rochester, New York, where Nancy made a name for herself as a successful real estate broker. Nancy and Doug loved to travel and spent much time at their cottage at the Finger Lakes with their son, Bryan.
Following retirement, they moved to Tucson, Arizona, where she continued work with the Biosphere 2 at the University of Arizona. Through their time there, Nancy and Doug also became big Arizona sports fans as well. Nancy loved spending time in the sun at the pool, especially with her granddaughter Maeve. Nancy attended the Community Church in Saddlebrooke.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Laura, and her brother Chuck. She is survived by her husband Doug, son Bryan, granddaughter Maeve, and brother Paul.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Arizona Foundation.

Yesterday

I just learned this evening of Nancy's recent deaths. I will always remember her smile her vivacity of life and her General friendliness. I did work with her for a period of time at Biosphere 2 and then often saw her around the neighborhood here in Saddlebrook. Please accept my deepest condolences upon the death of Nancy.
