Nancy Spaulding Glassburn, age 87, of Kissimmee, Florida passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, May 11, 2025.
She was born on July 20, 1937, in Langsville, Ohio, to her parents, Thomas and Mary Alice Spaulding. In 1955, she married the love of her life, Jim Glassburn, and together they shared many loving and memorable years.
Nancy is survived by her children: Debra (Steve) Morgenstern, Sharon (Randy) Howell, and Margie Cales; her brother, Tom Spaulding; grandchildren: Daphne (Brian), Joshua and Kristen, Teresa, Matthew, Melissa, and Bill (Rosie); and great-grandchildren: Jake, Madison, Luke (Rebeca), Carter (Sienna), Lilee, Emily, Daniel, and Marissa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim; her son, James Glassburn; grandson, Steven Morgenstern; and her siblings.
Nancy had a long and dedicated career with Western Electric, AT&T, and Lucent Technologies. She was a proud member of Harvest Time Baptist Church in Sunbury, Ohio.
Throughout her life, Nancy called many places home, including Langsville in Vinton County, Rutland, and Westerville, Ohio. In her later years, she settled in the Sunshine State, Florida, where she enjoyed the warmth and light.
She enjoyed a variety of hobbies and interests. She loved working on puzzles and watching the Hallmark Channel (so much so that a loved one once gifted her a special blanket honoring her Hallmark devotion). Most of all, she treasured family time. Her grandchildren have fond memories of making noodles with her, with flour flying everywhere; a sure sign that fun was had. Nancy also loved cooking, especially meals made from the fish her and Jim caught during their trips to Michigan, or the game Jim brought home from hunting.
She was a devoted wife who lovingly cared for Jim during 18 years of disability without complaint. Her family remembers her as strong, caring, and full of life. A stern but deeply loving woman. One of her children lovingly described Nancy and Jim as being like "Archie and Edith Bunker," in all the best and most endearing ways.
Nancy was immensely proud of her children and grandchildren, and they are forever grateful for the values and love she instilled in them.
Family and friends may call at Snyder Funeral Homes, DeVore Chapel, 637 N. State Route 61, Sunbury, Ohio 43074, on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with a funeral service immediately following at 12:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
