Nancy J. Grandaw, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on March 2, 1948, in Algoma, WI, to the late John and Genevieve (Tlachac) Buhr, Nancy married her first love, Gary P. Dantoin, on June 18, 1966, shortly after his return from the Army. Together, they welcomed five wonderful children: Kenneth, Dale, Penny, Jesse, and Mary, each of whom carries a piece of her vibrant spirit. He preceded her in death on January 24, 1994. Later, Nancy found love again with her devoted spouse, Archie Grandaw, and they married on April 1st, 2000. Together they shared many joyful moments.

Nancy dedicated 28 years to Emerson before her retirement. In her career, she also lent her skills to Plumbers and the Badger Cheese Factory in Forestville. Nancy spent her retirement selflessly volunteering at St. John's homeless shelter, and crocheting blankets for veterans. Among her other hobbies, she loved cooking delicious meals for her family, her love was intertwined in every stitch and every dish. Gardening brought her joy, and weekends at the cabin in Dunbar were her sanctuary, where laughter echoed among family and friends.

Her faith played an essential role in her life, guiding her through challenges and inspiring those around her. Nancy is survived by her husband Archie; her children, Dale (Patty) Dantoin, Algoma; Penny (Brian) Jandrin, Algoma. Step-children, Tim Grandaw, and Bob (Becky) Grandaw. Daughter-in-law, Cindy Dantoin. Grandchildren, Kim (Dan) Andrea, Casco; Brooke (Jason) Salzsieder, Brittany Dantoin, Rebecca (Tony) Haberli, Jordon (Allie) Jandrin, Nick (Chelsea) Dantoin, Nathan (Courtney) Dantoin, Kellen Michels, Brittany, Ryan, Joshua (Natalie), and Alex Grandaw. Ten great-grandchildren, Brantley, Tritt, Kinsey, Taelyn, Eli, Nora, Savannah, Blake, Greyson, and Emerson. Brothers, David (Nancy) Buhr, and Dennis (Pat) Buhr. Sister, Jeanne (Ken) Buhr, step-sisters, Carol (Ray) Schauer, and Gloria (John) Granius.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gary Dantoin; children, Kenneth, Jesse, and Mary; parents, John and Genevieve Buhr; grandparents, Ed and Jennie Tlachac, and stepmother, Geraldine Buhr.

Visitation will take place on Friday, May 30, 2025, at St. Hubert Catholic Church Rosiere from 10:00-11:30 am. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:30 am with Fr. Patrick Beno and Fr. Antonio Rex Palaya concelebrating. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. Online condolence messages may be shared at KinnardFCS.com.
