Nancy J. Taylor, 84, departed this life of love and entered a whole new life on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Novant New Hanover Medical Center in Wilmington.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Bridgeway Church of Beaufort. Visitation will take place one hour prior. Interment will follow the services at Carteret Memorial Gardens in Beaufort, NC.
She was born on September 16, 1939 to Genevieve (Peggy) Haynes and James L. Dougherty.
Nancy was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She adored her furbabies and best friends, Rose, Rosie, and Stella. She worked many years at her beloved job, Rose's. Nancy loved to talk, on the phone or in person, that was her special quality, Nancy could go hours talking about memories and the good times. Nancy's favorite hobbies included HSN and QVC, she loved those channels. Nancy's favorite holidays were Christmas and Thanksgiving.
Nancy is preceded in death by husband; John Wesley Taylor Jr; parents, Genevieve and James Dougherty; siblings, Joyce Shockling, Howard Dougherty, Dennis Dougherty, and her only son, Jeffery Lynn Hair.
Nancy is survived by her daughter, Cheryl H. Walter (John G Walter IX) of Leland, NC; sister, Bonnie Bosler (Joe Bosler) of Louisville, OH; brother, Richard Dougherty (Deb Dougherty) of North Canton, OH; grandchildren, John G Walter X (Amanda Walter) of Leland, NC, J.L Hair, of WI, Kelly Hair of WI, Matthew Hair of WI; loving great-granddaughters, Hailey Marie (Nathan Lewis) and Hya-Mckay Walter (Brye'shawn Butler) of Leland, NC; and a special great-granddaughter, Anna Lee Taylor, Leland, NC. Nancy also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews and cousins from Ohio, as well as many other great-grandchildren in Wisconsin.
Flowers are welcome or donations can be made out to the humane society in honor of Nancy's love for animals.
