With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Nellie V. Garcia, who departed this life and went home to be with the Lord at the age of 95. Born in Kingman, Arizona, to Lidia Zozaya and Manuel Velazquez, Nellie spent most of her life in Ventura County surrounded by the love of family and friends.
Nellie was a woman of warmth, strength, and grace. She found joy in cooking, shopping, and pampering herself by getting her hair and nails done by her daughters - but above all, she cherished the time spent with those she loved. Her kindness, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family will be deeply missed.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her three daughters: Rosie Ortega, Patty Valenzuela (Bill), and Lisa Gibson (Andy); as well as her grandchildren: Richard Macias, Patricia Macias, Richard Ortega, James Ortega, Marisa Garcia-Mays, Melissa Garcia-Vasquez, Michael Garcia, Raymond Ortega, Eric Valenzuela, Braeauna Garcia, Mya Garcia, Mariyah Garcia, Drew Gibson, and Ariana Gibson. Nellie was also blessed with 16 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, who will carry her love and memory forward. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Lidia Zozaya and Manuel Velazquez, as well as her daughter Linda Macias and son Mike Garcia.
A graveside service will be held on March 29 at 12:00 PM at Santa Clara Cemetery, 2370 North H Street, Oxnard.
Nellie's love and legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
