A celebration of the life of Mrs. Nelwyn Leath Bagley, 97, of Henderson, will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at First Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Mayhugh and Rev. David Luckert officiating, under the direction of Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the celebration of life on Wednesday, in the Great Hall at the church. A private committal service for the family will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park. Mrs. Bagley passed from this life on September 21, 2025, in Henderson. She was born November 8, 1927, to the late Colley and Isabel (Ballenger) Leath in Henderson where she was a lifelong resident. Nelwyn grew up in the Church Hill community where her family attended Church Hill Methodist Church. She attended school at Church Hill until she transferred to Henderson High School and graduated from there. Nelwyn later attended a business school in Marshall before returning to Henderson to work as a bookkeeper for Dunlap's Department store. She then worked alongside her husband, Johnny, for many years serving Henderson and Rusk County at Bagley's Pharmacy. In her retirement years, Nelwyn enjoyed being a part of Bagley Cattle Farms with Johnny. They were members of and traveled with the Texas Polled Hereford Association. Nelwyn and Johnny enjoyed trips all over the United States. First together, and later Nelwyn enjoyed many trips with family and good friends. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were always happy to go to "Grandma's", and of course they were treated to any and everything they wanted or needed. Mrs. Bagley was also a long-time member of First Methodist Church in Henderson where she served the church in many ways, and she was always devoted to the Pals Sunday School Class In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Johnny Bagley, and brothers Sonny Leath and Jack Leath, infant great-grandsons Greyson and Nathan Bagley. Survivors include her children Betty Bagley Tyson, Cathy Bagley Webster and husband Danny, and Bill Bagley and wife Joanne, all of Henderson; grandchildren John Tyson and wife Elizabeth, Abbey Tyson Cunningham and husband Paul, Melissa Webster LeBlanc and husband Jake, Sally Webster Thompson and husband Jake, Charlie Bagley and wife Alison, Scotty Bagley and wife Lana, and Natalie Bagley Lemons and husband Taylor; great-grandchildren J.T., Hunter, Avery, Tucker, Presley, Colby, Jack, John, Caleb, Casey, Hannah, Hollyn, Leah, and Reese; sister-in-law Beverly Leath of Pineland. Pallbearers will be John Tyson, J.T. Tyson, Tucker LeBlanc, Jake Thompson, Charlie Bagley and Scotty Bagley. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Methodist Church Building Fund at 204 N. Marshall, Henderson, TX 75652.
