Neva Joan Walvort, 92, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away early Wednesday morning, June 25, 2025, at Pine Haven Christian Home.
Neva was born August 13, 1932, in the town of Lima, the daughter of Garret and Henrietta (Prange) Hoitink. She attended Banner School and graduated from Cedar Grove High School. Neva worked at Pine Haven for many years and volunteered at the Corner Store.
On October 12, 1951, Neva was united in marriage with Walton “Wally” Walvort in Cedar Grove. He preceded her in death on October 1, 2002.
Neva was a longtime member of First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls. She was a former member of the Keenagers, loved to play bingo, puzzles, and word search books.
Neva is survived by three sons, Larry Walvort of Sheboygan Falls, Jeff (Dawn) Walvort of Town of Sheboygan and Brian Walvort of Sheboygan Falls; one daughter, Linda (Steve) Wilterdink of Sheboygan Falls; grandchildren, Jason (Rachael) Wilterdink, Jeremy (Jocelyn) Wilterdink, Nicholas (Miranda) Walvort Samantha (Porter) Vande Voort, Bobby Jo (Alex) Lipp; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Ian and Sophia Wilterdink, Cayson, Leah, Brooklyn Walvort, Flynn Vande Voort, Logan and Sophia Lipp. She is further survived by her sister-in-law Shirley Hoitink; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Wally, daughter-in-law Joan Walvort, parents, siblings: Garret (Joan) Hoitink, John Hoitink, Evelyn (William) Van Wyk, LaVerne (Willard) Veldman and an infant sister; parents-in-law Willis (Clara) Walvort, and brother-in-law Calvin (Louise) Walvort.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at First Reformed Church in Sheboygan Falls, with Pastor Brad Veenendaal officiating. A livestream of the service can be viewed on Neva’s obituary page at wenigfh.com. She will be laid to rest beside Wally at Sheboygan Falls Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the church on Tuesday from 9:00AM-11:00AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Pine Haven Christian Communities and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
