Nicole Denise Rahmer passed away peacefully at her home in Wasilla, Alaska, on March 27, 2025, at the age of 51. Born on February 28, 1974, in Landstuhl, Germany, to William Rahmer Jr. and Wilma Rahmer, Nicole lived a life defined by service, love, laughter, and deep devotion to her family and friends.
Nicole proudly served in the United States Air Force for 22 years, including a deployment in Iraq, and retired with the rank of Major in 2020. Her military career was marked by courage, leadership, and an unwavering sense of duty.
On February 9, 2017, she married the love of her life, Heather Fitts. Together, they created a life grounded in love, laughter, and mutual support. Nicole was also a devoted and proud mother to Zoriana, Connor, and Talon-being a mother and wife was her greatest joy and life's proudest accomplishment.
She earned her bachelor's degree from Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington, and later completed her master's degree at the University of Phoenix. Her commitment to growth, learning, and leadership extended far beyond the classroom.
Nicole will be remembered for her sharp wit, quick sense of humor, and infectious laugh that could light up any room. She had a rare gift for laughing at herself and reminding others not to take life too seriously. Her warmth and kindness knew no limits-she was the kind of person who made everyone feel like family, and she gave freely of herself to those lucky enough to know her.
She is survived by her loving wife, Heather Fitts; her children, Zoriana, Connor, and Talon; her parents, William Rahmer Jr. and Wilma Rahmer; her sister, Pamela Leiker, and husband Clayton; her nephews, Nick Burrell (wife Gabriela and their son Grayson), Gavin Burrell, and Brody Leiker; and her niece, Amanda Swaney (husband Syler and their children Elliott and Whitley). She also leaves behind countless friends who became chosen family through the years.
Nicole's authenticity, loyalty, and generous spirit made her truly unforgettable. Her legacy lives on in every person she lifted up, every laugh she shared, and every life she touched with her boundless love.
A celebration of life will be held in Alaska at a later date, with a live stream available for family and friends who are unable to attend in person.
To honor Nicole's memory, friends and loved ones are encouraged to say her name with a smile, share stories, laughter, and moments that capture the joy of knowing her. May her memory continue to live on through the love and light she gave so freely.
