Nolan Keith Hanner, age 80, of Freetown, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour.
Nolan was a member of Kurtz Church of the Nazarene.
Mr. Hanner dedicated over 30 years of his career to Golden Foundry, demonstrating commitment and loyalty throughout his service.
Nolan cherished spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren, and he particularly enjoyed dining out with his beloved wife. Nolan also had a passion for mushroom hunting, fishing, gardening, and collecting tractors.
Born on July 15, 1944, in Kurtz, Nolan was the son of Woodrow and Marjorie (Lutes) Hanner, both of whom preceded him in death. On April 26, 1969, in Kurtz, he married Patty Ann Charles, and she survives in Freetown.
Survivors also include one daughter, Elizabeth Stella Spellman; two grandchildren: Christopher Spellman, Jr. and Christina Elise Tucker; two great-grandchildren: Johnny Tucker, Jr. and Elizabeth Ann Tucker; sisters-in-law: Beverley (Dwight) DeWitt and Judy Hanner; and brother-in-law, Dale Sovern.
Nolan was also preceded in death by his son, David Keith Hanner; his son-in-law, Christopher Lee Spellman; three brothers: Edward Hanner, Morris Hanner, and Ronald L. Hanner; three sisters: Wilma J. Sovern, Karen Stradley, and Ruth Jeanette (Hanner) (Fine) Hall; sister-in-law, Mary Gail Hanner; and brother-in-law, Jeff Stradley.
Funeral services for Nolan Keith Hanner and his sister, Ruth Jeanette (Hanner) (Fine) Hall, will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Kurtz Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Floyd Fisher officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Kurtz Church of the Nazarene.
Interment will follow at Kurtz Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Kurtz Church of the Nazarene or Kurtz Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the caring staff at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc.
