Benson, NC: Nora Miller Bowman passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 11:00AM Monday, July 21, 2025 in the Roselawn Cemetery in Benson. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00PM in the sanctuary of the Benson Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Jon Stacy Miller.
Nora was a long-time resident of Benson, but in recent years she had made her home in Clayton. On May 7, 1944, Nora was born in Lenoir County to the late W.F. “Bud” and Kathleen Miller and her sister and brothers preceded Nora’s death.
After graduating from East Carolina University with a BS degree in education, Nora taught elementary school for a few years. She is most remembered for dedicating her life to raising her children, and creating a home filled with warmth and love. A devoted homemaker, Nora took pride in everything she did.
She is survived by her daughters, Jane A. Bowman, Susan B. Monroe (Howard), Mary B. Aylin, and “the apple of her eye,” grandson, Logan King. Nora is also survived by several nieces and nephews, along with great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this time.
