Nora Z. Garcia, 89, of Genoa, and formerly of Woodville passed away at Genoa Care Center, on Sunday, June 8, 2025. Nora was born on November 6, 1935 in San Benito, TX to Sostenes and Petra (Lozano) Zuniga. On December 6, 1952 she married Louis Garcia in Oak Harbor, OH. Nora and Louis had four children and celebrated nearly 58 years of marriage until Louis' passing in 2009.
Nora worked as a custodian for Woodmore Schools, and in housekeeping at the Holiday Inn 25 years prior to that. A woman of great faith she was a member of Life Chapel in Walbridge. She enjoyed the outdoors tending to her garden, and she also enjoyed cooking. However, her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren.
Nora is survived by her children: Mike Garcia of Toledo, Louis (Laura) Garcia Jr., of Woodville, daughters: Carmen Taynor of Toledo, Virginia (Duane) Gee of Pemberville, Kayla (Clay) Bacon of Sandusky, and numerous grand, and great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Louis Garcia Sr., she was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Andreas, Ismiael sisters: Anita, Christina, Feliapia, Dolores, and Andria.
Family and friends will be received 9-11 a.m., with a Funeral Service at 11a.m., Thursday, June 12, 2025 at Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 201 West Main, Woodville, OH. Nora will be laid to rest next to Louis Sr., at Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa, OH.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to: Faith Chapel.
