Norma June Hurley, age 96, of Salinas, entered into eternal rest on July 22, 2025. She was born July 6, 1929, in Somerset, Colorado to the late Clair and Mamie Green. June was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, John D. Hurley, brothers Dale Green, Donald Green and sister Carmen Perez.

She was blessed with six children, Sharon Fields (Roy), Gary Rowe (Terry), Joyce Robbins (Cecil), Patrick Hurley (Teresa) and predeceased by daughters Sheryl Ferguson (David) and Brenda Potter (Tom). "Nana", as she was fondly referred to by her grandchildren and great grandchildren, often said "My children are my biggest love, and my grandchildren my greatest joy." She was joyfully blessed with 15 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren that loved and adored her.

Her fondest memories included stays at her Grass Valley and Donner Lake cabins. When her family grew, it became a summer tradition to camp in Yosemite with all her nephews, nieces, grandchildren and friends from church. Those fond memories carried a special place in her heart as well as all of us that were lucky enough to participate. She often traveled the countryside with her late husband "JD" by motorhome and always looked forward to getting home to share their experiences. One unforgettable adventure was to Yellowstone where she climbed between a barbed wired fence to try and take a closer photo of a buffalo. Needless to say, that buffalo did not want a photo taken and charged at her, leaving June running for her life!

As a member of Oak Park Church for many years, she lent her natural musical talents on the piano and organ. Nana never had lessons but could play these instruments beautifully by ear. Her love for Jesus was first and foremost in her life. She never wavered in sharing her faith and love for Christ and passed this love onto family and friends, who will sadly miss her.

At her request, a private family service will be held at 11:00 on Thursday July 31, 2025 at Struve and Laporte, followed by her burial at the Garden of Memories.

I loved June. She was a fun loving woman and so much fun to spend time with. We had many wonderful trips camping in Yosemite with family and other church friends. June always has the best camp in the group. There was wall to wall carpet in her tent. There was a stove that her husband, JD placed out side her tent where she baked cookies for everyone. She loved the Lord with all her heart and I know I will see her again one day in heaven. We say farewell to a marvelous woman who will be missed by so many.
