Omeda Whitehead Holland was born May 28, 1949 in Leslie County, KY to the union of the late Tinsley and Viona Brock Whitehead. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.
Omeda was a life-long resident of Leslie County. She was a homemaker and enjoyed working in her flower garden; especially her rose bushes, those were her favorite.
Other than her flowers, she enjoyed music, song writing, and singing. She was an animal lover, especially to her beloved pet cats. When she wasn't working in her flowers or writing songs, she found joy in gardening. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and nieces.
In addition to her parents, Omeda was preceded in death by her two sons David William Holland, and Caleb Holland; one brother Tinsley "Lonnie" Whitehead; one sister Goldie Simpson; a sister in law and special friend Sharon Whitehead; father of her children Dave Holland.
Omeda leaves behind her daughter Amy Asher (Freddy) of Hazard, KY; her special niece Tennille Whitehead of Bledsoe, KY; two brothers Lester Whitehead of Bledsoe, KY and Ronnie Whitehead of Hoskinston, KY; four sisters Faye Simpson of Mozelle, KY, Shirley Brock of Asher, KY, Patricia Nantz of Warbranch, KY, and Juanita Soto of Lawrenceburg, IN. A host of grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
