Mrs. Ophelia Locklear Kitchin passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at her residence after an illness. She was 87 years old.
Ophelia was born on August 20, 1937, in McColl, SC to the late Donnie and Myrtle Langley Locklear. She enjoyed playing Bingo, going to the Auction, watching NASCAR, traveling, and loved going on adventures with her family.
She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory; sons, Darrel Kitchin (Lynn) and Kevin Kitchin (Sommer); daughter, Carmela Kitchin George (Leroy Anderson); sisters, Margaret LaBean, Jeanette Redbrook, and Geneva Williams; grandchildren, Tracie Kitchin (Gunner), Darrel Wayne Kitchin, III (Taylor), Cheyenne English (Cameron), Neylan Kitchin, and Nolan Kitchin; and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents listed above, sisters, Virgie Montoya and Catherine Shannon; brother, David Locklear; grandson, Dane Bustard.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Rogers Funeral Home, with burial in Rogers Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 1-2pm just prior to the service.
