Peggy Arlene Bruce, 77, of Wappapello, MO, passed away Friday, September 12, 2025, at her residence. She was born in Poplar Bluff, MO, April 21, 1948, to Lester Lawrence and Wilma Nadine (Greenwall) Luke.

Peggy was a loving mother, cherished grandmother, devoted sister, and a loyal friend to many. She married the love of her life, Larry Bruce, and they were blessed with two beautiful daughters.

Peggy proudly served her country in the United States Air Force, a commitment she carried with honor and pride throughout her life. Following her military service, she worked for the Forestry Service, where she spent most of her career in office administration but also courageously assisted in firefighting efforts when needed.

Peggy was an avid reader who found joy and comfort in the pages of a good book. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, always cherishing those moments of connection.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of thirty-two years; beloved daughters: Tammy Lankford and Alisa Mugridge; grandchild; Derek McComas; brother: Ricky Luke; and sister: Vicky Thouvenin.

Peggy is survived by her step-daughter: Buffy Porch; grandchildren: Blake McComas, Braedin Mugridge, Austin harris, Debon Raddad; great-grandchildren: Raelynn Harris, Edward Harris, Kennedi Bass, Kailynne Raddad, Gracelynn Raddad all of Poplar Bluff; brothers: Roy Luke and wife Erma, Frank Luke and wife Violet, and Curtis Luke, all of Williamsville; son-in-law: Mark Mudridge and wife Chrissy; sister-in-law: Annette Luke; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Peggy's warmth, strength, and loving spirit touched all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Military Crossing Cemetery, Williamsville, MO, with full military honors. Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
