Pamula Nevins Obituary

Pamula Lee Nevins, 81, of Edinburg, formerly of Rochester, passed away at 12:22 p.m. Saturday, September 21st, 2024, at HSHS St. John's Hospital.
She was born June 1st, 1943, in Danville, IL to Ralph William and Thedelma Nicinna Gray Cox. She married Thomas Duggan Nevins on August 5, 1962, in Springfield. She is survived by her husband Tom, daughter Paige (Tad) Whitten of Congerville and Todd (Allison) of Merida, Mexico, one granddaughter Sydney Whitten of Atlantic Beach, FL, two brothers: Jim (Linda) Cox of Springfield, Steve (Ruth) Cox of Rochester and one sister Penny (Bryan) Cox Dunlevy of Springfield. She was preceded in death by one sister, Sylvia Chezem and one brother, Butch Cox.
Pam worked for 25 years at Excel Decorators, a trade show company in Springfield, IL before retiring in 2003. Pam and Tom then started their own business, Western Images Limited, where they traveled all across the country and overseas to various horse and livestock shows marketing Western art. They were presented various awards over the years for their meticulous and impressive displays. Specifically the Best in Show at the National Western Stock Show in Denver, CO for three consecutive years.
Pam used her many talents for those that she loved. She was a talented seamstress, making baby blankets, mending clothes and stitching detailed ornaments. Over the years she made over three hundred ornaments for Christmas trees, life accomplishments and "just because". She was a talented baker, whose sugar cookies, pies and famous noodles were loved by all. Pam's Rocky Road cookies received the Pillsbury Bake-off Champion award at the Illinois State Fair.
She was a fiercely loyal friend, sister, mother, grandma and wife. Her favorite days were spent at home with her best friend and life partner, Tom.
