Pat was born in Bienville Parish, Louisiana, on April 11, 1928. She passed away peacefully on October 4, 2025, in Bossier City, Louisiana, at the age of 97.
She was raised in Gibsland, Louisiana, and attended Louisiana Tech and later moved to Shreveport, Louisiana. After raising two children she worked at the United States Post Office until retirement.
During her long life, she enjoyed sewing, hunting, fishing, playing piano, serving in her church, painting, traveling, and enjoyed her family, especially her grandsons and great grands.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Philip Kihneman, parents, Carroll and Hettie Carter of Gibsland, Louisiana, and her sisters, Lois Carter Stewart and husband Douglas Stewart, of Gibsland, Louisiana and Carolyn Carter Winslett and husband, Ray Winslett, of Lake Charles, Louisiana.
She is survived by her children, Janet Hamm Carr and husband David, of Lexington, Mississippi, and Bob Hamm and wife Kelly, of Bossier City, Louisiana, two grandsons, Greg Carr and Carter Hamm and wife Sarah, as well as three great-grandchildren, Cooper Hamm, Whitlee Carr and Kaylee Carr, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery outside of Gibsland, Louisiana, on October 21st, at 11:00 a.m.
