Obituary Patricia Ann Baker
Patricia Ann Baker, 79, of Thomas, Idaho passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, in Pocatello, ID, at Brookdale assisted living center with her family close to her after fighting Parkinson's disease for many years.
She was born March 17, 1945 in Utica, New York the daughter of George Everett Allen and Mabel Mae Walker Allen.
Patricia graduated from Garden Grove High School in California. She also attended the Business College in Pocatello for 1 1/2 years.
On February 5, 1965 she married Kent Summers in Westminster, CA. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple in 1966. He preceded her in death on January 29, 1975. She then married Marlin Baker on December 29, 1990 in Blackfoot, Idaho.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served mostly in the Primary. She also served as a Relief Society teacher, a secretary in Sunday School, Stake Singles Leader, Stake Genealogy Library and many other various callings. She was loved by many and her adorable smile radiated love to all who crossed her path. She was a true example of enduring to the end.
She loved being a homemaker and enjoyed ceramics, gardening, canning, picnics, scrapbooking, coloring, movies, going on rides and spending time with her family. She loved to volunteer and helped out greatly in the Boy Scouts of America. She worked as a candy striper for hospitals, a clothing store and as a switch board operator. She also worked as an executive secretary for the Chamber of Commerce.
She is survived by her husband, Marlin of Thomas; sons, Jim Summers (Franklin Brown) of Astoria, Oregon, Dee Summers of Carson City, Nevada; daughter, LeighAnn (Travis) Sensenbach of Thomas, Idaho; step children; Carrie Baker of Thomas, ID. Kevin (Judy) Baker, of Syracuse, UT, Connie (Bill) Gaither of Rapid City, S. Dakota, and Janna (Michael) Hannahs of Rapid City, S. Dakota; 19 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mabel Allen; her first husband, Kent Summers; brothers, George Allen, Alfred Allen, Charles Allen, Robert Taylor and Bernie Taylor; sister, Barbara Snyder; a step son Marlin Melton Baker.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 2, 2024, at the Thomas LDS Church, 1050 W. 100 S. Blackfoot, Idaho. The family will meet with friends at the church for an hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Restlawn Cemetery in Pocatello at 2:30 p.m. under the direction of the Hawker Funeral Home.
