She graduated from Holliday High School, Holliday, Texas, earned her Licensed Vocational Nursing from Del Mar college and her Registered Nursing degree from Paris Junior College. She came to faith in Jesus at age 18 at Plano Assembly of God.
She was united in holy matrimony to Rev. Samuel Vale Calk on March 11, 1966. This union was blessed with two children. Patricia and Samuel spent the last 59 years in ministry, including as evangelists and pastors. Their most recent pastoral ministry was with Lone Oak Assembly of God where they have served for the past 25 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Lee and Dorothy Lillian Melton Heathington, and her brother, Art Heathington. She is survived by one sister, Yvette Heathington Stubbs with her husband Johnnie of Trent, Texas.
Her life will be remembered and cherished by her loving husband, Rev. Samuel Calk of Lone Oak; her two children, Stephen Calk of Plano, Texas and Jeanne Taylor with her husband Daren of Rolla, Missouri. She also has 7 grandchildren: Jonas Taylor with his wife Alexis and Faith Kirkland with her husband Joe-Don, Sarah Calk Coots, Caleb Calk, Seth with his wife Princess Calk, Grace Calk and Charity Calk. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Spruiell, Josh Fallen, and Eric Osburn.
