CUMBERLAND -- Patricia "Patty" McGee Sell, of Cumberland, passed away on Friday, November 4, at Allegany Health Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Born in Cumberland on April 27, 1931, Patty was the daughter of the late James M. and Beulah Virginia (Athey) McGee. She was also instrumental in founding the gift shop at Memorial Hospital, assuming a managerial role at one point. A dedicated Catholic, Patty was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church/Our Lady of the Mountains Parish. At the church, she was a corporator through the Archdiocese of Baltimore as well as a member of the Parish Council.
Active in the community, Patty was a member of the Women's Civic Club, the Junior Women's Club, the YaYa Investment club, and the Cresaptown chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was especially passionate about live theatre and served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Cumberland Theatre.
