Patricia Sue Smith, age 73, of Richlands, VA, passed away at Pikeville Medical Center on July 7, 2025.
Patricia was born on December 1, 1951, in Richlands, VA to the late Fred Walter Carner and Peggy Crawford Carner. She was a housekeeper at the Mattie Williams Hospital in Richlands, VA. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Calvin Smith; and brother Dennis Carner.

Grandchildren:
Midajah Kathleen Smith (Nathaniel Lane Smith)
Abigail Grace Smith (Kaleb Ray)
Step-Grandchildren:
Tanner Johnson, Dakota Johnson, Christopher Johnson
Great-Grandchildren:
Heaven Hope Smith and Jaydon Dakota Bonds
Funeral services for Patricia Sue Smith will be conducted at 2 PM on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Robert Osborne officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA. Pallbearers will be Calvin Smith, Nathaniel Smith, Kaleb Ray, Sam Smith, Jared Blankenship, and Stuart Belton. Brody Cooper will serve as an honorary pallbearer,. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until the time of service. Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia, oversees arrangements, and those wishing to express sympathy online may do so at www.hurstscottfuneralhomes.com
