Patrick William Flood 1964-2025 Patrick William Flood passed away at his home in Yakima, Washington on August 28, 2025. Patrick was born in Seattle, Washington, on May 5, 1964, to Marilyn Allen and Leo Timothy Flood. The Floods, including Patick's sister, Shawn, brothers: Timothy and Jeffrey, moved to Chelan, Washington, in 1968. Patrick was a K-12 graduate from Chelan High School, playing tennis and trombone in the marching band. Patrick developed his love of the outdoors with his parents at various beach cabins on Puget Sound and Hood Canal and later in Chelan. His family's foremost passion was and still is skiing. Patrick spent many years skiing at Echo Valley and Mission Ridge, hiking in the hills, and swimming and boating on the lake. Patrick later fulfilled a lifetime ambition with his childhood friends, hiking the Pacific Crest Trail in sections over the years. Sadly, he was unable to complete the PCT all the way to Canada. Patrick graduated from University of Washington with a BFA in Graphic Design in 1987. Patrick was an artist who made a living in graphic design, and he competently adapted to the new world of the internet becoming expert in web and digital design, working for Coldwater Creek, Cabela's, Gallo Winery and Melaleuca, among others, over a 37 year career. We connected with him through his photography on social media, despite being separated geographically for many years. Patrick and his wife settled in Sandpoint, Idaho, raising their four children: Aaron, Byron, and twins Kaitlyn "Katie" and Laurel. Following a divorce and closure of his employer in Sandpoint, Patrick had to move out of state to find work in his field. It was very difficult to be separated from his family and friends, but he successfully followed through on his commitment to provide financial support for his children. Patrick's life was defined most by his love of the outdoors and he reveled in skiing, hiking, biking, camping, swimming, fly fishing, observing the night sky and generally appreciating the wonder of God's creation in nature and we were lucky to share those experiences with him. Patrick was a funny person, and laughter was the accompaniment to tackling the steep hill and , enduring a white-out blizzard on the chairlift. Somehow each ski trip or hike was "epic" and "awesome" not matter the weather or challenges. Patrick was predeceased by his mother, Marilyn Allen Flood; and brothers: Timothy and Jeffrey Flood. He is survived by his children: Aaron Flood, Byron Flood, Kaitlyn (Flood) Miller, and Laurel (Flood) Spaulding; and six grandchildren. Patrick is also survived by his parents: father, Leo Timothy Flood and stepmother, Mary Flood of Chelan, Washington; sister, Shawn Flood Brown of Tacoma, Washington; and by nephews and nieces in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. Patrick was a committed Christian and his last service to others was to visit homebound seniors in Yakima, Washington. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Catholic Charities Eastern Washington in his memory.
