Patsy Ann Compton, age 86, of Fort Smith, Arkansas, passed away on July 10, 2025. She was born on January 12, 1939, in Hobbs, New Mexico, to the late Brady Smith Madry and Margaret Fairweather.
She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Dermott. On May 18, 1962, Pat married the love of her life, Elroy Compton, and they made their home in Dermott, where they raised a beautiful family. Patsy devoted her life to her children. She was very active in their extracurricular activities. From cheering her boys on while they played football to carpooling her girls to dance, piano practices, and even helping supervise at cheer camp. She never missed a moment, and they always knew she was cheering for them. Pat's love for sports continued as she proudly supported the Arkansas Razorbacks in both football and basketball. She loved calling those hogs with her best friends, the late Marie and Jerry Melton. When she wasn't at a ballgame, you could find her at the lake or camping. Pat's greatest joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each one calling her by their own special name: Grandma, Nana, Grandmother, Darlin', and most recently, Honey.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Elroy Compton; three brothers, Brady Madry, Charles Madry, and Rocky Turner; one sister, Tena Shephard; and her sister-in-law, Jewel Madry.
She is survived by sons, Ricky Lowrey and wife, Lora of Abilene, TX, and Marvin Lowrey (Johan) of Bauxite, AR; daughters, Lisa Floriani and husband, Mike of Reading, KS; Carla Mathis and husband, Jonathan of Fort Smith, AR; Debbie Smith and husband, Roy of Bella Vista, AR; one sister, Beverly Harris and husband, Bobby of Lonsdale, AR; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends including Eva Warren and Ann Walloch.
Visitation with family and friends will be held from 11:30 to 12:30 at Temple Baptist Church in Dermott with Bro. Steve Fleming officiating. Graveside services will follow at 1:00pm at the Dermott Cemetery under the direction of Bishop-King Funeral Home in Lake Village, Arkansas.
