Patsy Ann Spears Williams, beacon of love and strength, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2025, at the age of 86 in Odessa, Texas with her family by her side. Born on January 1, 1939, in Tahoka, Texas, she was a woman of grace, known for her kind heart and unwavering faith.
Patsy's early life in the heart of a Texas cotton farming community set the stage for a lifetime of honest work, commitment to family, and importance of self-reliance. And, as a long-term member of the Andrews Church of Christ, she dedicated herself to her faith and the church community, embodying the Christian principles of love and charity.
Family was Patsy's pride and joy. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her sons, Dan Williams and his wife Jennifer of Janesville, Wisconsin, and Dustin Williams of
Andrews, Texas. Her sister Linda Timmons and her husband Calvin of Beeville, Texas, as well as sisters-in-law Francis Spears of Manchaca, Texas, and Sharron Spears of West End, North Carolina, will remember Patsy's warmth and guiding presence. Her son-in-law Ernie Gilbert, and her grandchildren Daniel Williams and his wife Kayla, Audrey Williams, Jerry Gilbert, Jakob Gilbert, Melina Williams, and Ivy Williams, along with her great-grandson Boaz Williams, all carry treasured memories of their beloved matriarch.
While her passing leaves a void, Patsy is lovingly reunited with her parents, Tom Watson Spears and Lottie Lorena Redman Spears, her husband of 56 years John "J.W." Williams, her daughter D'lyn Williams Gilbert, and her siblings Bonnie Bairrington, Mick Spears, and Larry Spears. Together, they rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love that Patsy so freely gave during her time on earth.
Patsy's hands were rarely still for she adored quilting and sewing. Each stitch was a testament to her love and care, and her handmade quilts became a symbol of her desire to keep her loved ones warm and comforted. These treasures, crafted with such love and attention, will continue to provide solace and memories of her gentle spirit.
Patsy's zest for life was most evident when surrounded by her friends and family. She loved to laugh and tell old stories, enriching the lives of all who knew her. She had a remarkable memory and could recite the birthdays, anniversaries, and other special dates of everyone in her life.
As we bid farewell to Patsy, we celebrate a well-lived life, a journey marked by devotion to family, faith, and community. Her legacy is one of unconditional love and the joy of giving, a legacy that will continue to inspire and guide us. Though she has left this earthly realm, her spirit remains a guiding light for all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Patsy's life will be honored and remembered in a service that reflects the richness of her spirit and the depth of her faith. As she enters the Kingdom of Heaven, we take comfort in the knowledge that her love will forever be woven into the fabric of our lives, just as her quilts will continue to provide warmth and comfort for generations to come.
