Patty Liewer of Olathe, KS passed away on Thursday February 6, 2025 at Garden Terrace, Overland Park. KS.

Patty was born August 19, 1937 in Beatrice, NE to Winston and Doris Harding.

She attended Beatrice public schools and graduated from Beatrice High School in 1955.  Shortly after graduating, Patty moved to the Kansas City area with her family and later moved to Olathe, KS. in 1963, there she earned her Bachelors Degree in nursing from Penn Valley University and graduated with the prestigious award of a Registered Nurse. This started her 3-decade career, as a professional nurse.  Working for such places what was then King Radio, Olathe as an Industrial Nurse for 7 years, and later advancing her career throughout Olathe Medical Center, caring for ER patients and being a MedSurg nurse.  Patty then obtained a career with the VA Hospital in Leavenworth, KS where her primary function was head nurse for psychiatric patients. She retired from there after 21 of service in 2002.  In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, quilting, sewing, crafting, gardening, canvas painting and playing bingo, she especially enjoyed taking off to remote fishing ponds with her husband Jerry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jerry and sister Ina Gay.

Patty is survived by her daughter Rebecca (Lou) Vogt, Warsaw, IN and son Reece(Paula) Gibson, Gardner KS. Jerome Jr.( Pamela) Liewer, Valley Falls, KS.  Grandchildren: Louie Vogt, Jacquelyn Vogt, Katherine (Derrick) Golden, Patrick Vogt, Lucas (Lili) Gibson, and Mikayla Gibson. Great Grandchildren: Madison, Gavin, LJ, Maxwell, Lennox, Maddie, Anora, Kohen, Finneas.  Her sister Eleanor Jamison, Beatrice NE and many nieces, nephews and friends, also survive her.

The family would like to thank the Staff and friends at Garden Terrace for their kindness and love in taking care of Patty.
