Patty McFarland Obituary

Patty Lou McFarland, born May 21, 1944, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, surrounded by the people she loved most. She was 81.
Patty lived a life rooted in love, kindness, and quiet strength. She cared deeply for everyone around her, always putting others first. Truly, she was the most unselfish person you could ever meet-offering help without being asked, and love without condition.
She found joy in life's simple pleasures: the soft rhythm of sewing, the challenge of a good puzzle, and the laughter of family filling her home. Her heart belonged to her grandchildren, and her faithful dog Ginny was always close by.
Patty was preceded in death by her loving husband Richard A. "Mac" Mcfarland and her parents Raymond and Elenor (Anderson) Bigelow, and her brother Gary Bigalow.
Patty is survived by her daughter Lori Beth of the family home; her son John and his wife Tiffany; and her son Brian and his wife Casey. She was a devoted grandmother to Shae, Brady (and his wife Nikelle), Mike, Rich, John, Lauren, and Ella. Her legacy lives on in her great-grandchildren: Mara, Nixon, Nora, and Celine, and a sister Donna Kuzio.
To know Patty was to be cared for. She gave everything she had-her time, her energy, and her heart- to those she loved. She leaves behind a family bound by her example of compassion and selflessness. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 4-8pm at the Wilson Funeral Home – Heslop chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH 43935. Funeral Service will be Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 11am at the Heslop
Chapel with Rev. Dr. Bill Lawrence officiating. Burial to follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
